Project aims

Until June 2014, we intend to set a course together with you in the Southern Czech Republic, in Lower Austria and in Vienna.

Amongst others, through:

• Cooperation between existing and new members of the European Land and Soil Alliance
• Offer for education of municipal „Soil Ambassadors"• Soil colour creative competition for schools + subsequent private views of paintings of competition
• Soil Summer School at Brno
• Synopsis of technical and legal bases – "Soil erosion" in AT and CZ
• Selection and documentation of best-practice examples / models: "ActionBase of municipal soil protection"
• Soil film for a documentation of the project as a whole
• Creating maps showing risk of erosion (AT/CZ)
• Establishing a case study on erosion / avoidance / control measures
• Guidelines of avoidance of erosion = fundamentals and contents for education
• Catalogue of measures for avoidance of erosion for best-practice municipalities
• Greening of approx. 70 ha each (AT + CZ) of areas threatened by erosion as pilot measures for an area-wide protection against erosion
• Consideration of best-possible sustainability of all processes of this project
• Support of positive soil awareness through information of population (for instance by articles in municipal leaflets and at events)
